Which celebrities have incontinence?

Bladder weakness is still very much a taboo subject. One that many people won't talk about for fear of being judged. However there are some celebrities who have been more public and in this article we share who they are (and cheer them on for helping smash the taboo!)

We'd like to be clear that we are 200% supportive of women in the public eye who talk about their struggles with bladder weakness. With 1/3 women experiencing it there is a strong need to get more people talking about it so the experience is normalised and women feel less isolated. Overall there is still a lot of work to be done in bringing the issue out into the open but here are a few celebrities who are more public about their journey.

Kris Jenner:Anyone who watches “Keeping Up with The Kardashians” will know that Kris Jenner is the powerhouse behind the Kardashian brand. She recently underwent a hip operation and is publicly open about her incontinence. In one episode, Jenner was teased by her family for her constant trips to the toilet. But teasing changed to concern and during the show, Jenner was talked into seeing a doctor who diagnosed her with stress incontinence. Kris then went on to work with a brand and said of her diagnosis: “I’m going to embrace this Guess who has the last laugh now, ladies!”

Whoopi Goldberg: The Emmy, Grammy, Tony, and Academy Award-winning struggles with bladder leakage, a specific condition known as LBL or light bladder leakage. Goldberg is very open about her incontinence, working with incontinence brands to help stamp out the taboo around bladder leakage and incontinence. She even launched a comedy series that reflected on the fact that 1 in 3 women have bladder issues, as part of the “1 in 3 Like Me” campaign by incontinence brands.

Katy Perry: The famous singer has said publicly that she experienced frequent incontinence in her teenage years. In fact, she had such severe leaks that she wore adult diapers regularly throughout her high school years.

Perry went through a number of treatments, but she was determined to not let it control her life. Eventually doctors discovered that her incontinence was due to a urinary tract infection. So with some lifestyle changes, she found the right treatment and gained control over her bladder

Kate WinsletThe British movie star appeared on a TV show where she explained that she had developed stress urinary incontinence after having three children. Winslet says that she experiences bladder leakages when she sneezes or if she jumps on a trampoline. We applaud Kate for being so honest about her experience and helping shine some light on the taboo so more people go out and seek support and solutions!
